This simple recipe can be whipped up in 5 minutes and can be served as a delicious starter with rye bread, soda bread or maybe some homemade melba toasts. If you want a fuss free Christmas starter then this recipe will be a perfect appetizer to kick off the festivities.

175g smoked salmon, roughly chopped
150g cream cheese
50g crème fraîche
1 small lemon, juice and zest
1 tbsp finely chopped fresh dill
sea salt and black pepper

To serve:
8 slices rye bread
30g rocket
4 wedges of lemon

Equipment used:

1. To make the pâté place the smoked salmon into a small food processor and
whizz up for a few seconds until finely chopped.
2. Add the cream cheese and the crème fraîche then gently fold in the lemon
juice and zest and dill.
3. Season with salt and pepper then spoon into a serving jar or dish and chill in
the fridge until required.

Cook’s Tip
If you do not have a food processor or blender just chop the salmon very finely then
